ICEBERG, one of the tracks from our Unmasked album (2024), draws on the parallels of being partially seen, yes, just like an iceberg.
While only a small portion of ourselves may be visible at any one time, so much remains hidden below the surface: the unexplored, the good, and the not-so-good.
The Unmasked album as a whole explores aspects of ADHD life, however ICEBERG was a concept that resonates with anyone who’s ever felt like they’re only showing a fraction of who they really are. And it isn’t necessarily that we may be hiding aspects of ourselves (which we are very capable to doing). In many environments, different parts of us emerge. Observers might only see isolated aspects, without appreciating the full picture. That can lead to misunderstandings, skewed perceptions, or a sense of disconnect.
Let’s face it. There are risks in not recognising what lies beneath the surface. Many ship captains could attest to that, if they had survived the sinking.
As with all of OLDER’s music videos, this one was another DIY effort, filmed on a not-so-quiet Sunday. (Let’s be honest, we don’t actually have quiet Sundays.)
So we made a snowstorm. In our garage. As you do.
There’s something oddly special about creating art in the spaces where you live. In the same place you cook, work, rest, and in this case, store the lawnmower and a 23-year-old Toyota. Armed with a leaf blower, a homemade “snow” mix made from cornflour and water, a few props, and plenty of trial and error, we created our own mini blizzard.
Filming was a blast. A cold, wintery blast.
